a poem.

sometimes Heaven wages watery war with Earth,
and God’s artillery turns a wedding to a bridal shower.
a sextillion drops of ocean water form rank,
the tall phalanx wall obliterates a tiny Mongolian village.
in the Kalahari, the sun peeks around a silver lining,
and no grain of sand is left unbaptized.

somedays tears and raindrops collide
in a liquid ionic fusion,
watery orbs pelt tombstones,
chilling a mourner’s bare skin.

somewhere unclear
a salty tear meanders
down dark skin,
and a stoic, damp earth absorbs pain.
